Local Electric Driving, No Range Anxiety. Volvo has been talking about going electric a lot lately. The company plans to do it with a mixture of all-electric vehicles, like the new XC40 Recharge, and plug-in hybrid versions of its SUVs and sedans. If you want to be picky, the 198 6 Sprint ER was the gas-mileage king of 1980s America, rated at 44 city and 53 highway miles per gallon. The 1987 Sprint ER came in second place, due to its insatiable thirst for go-go juice on the highway (51 miles per gallon). Just $66 with gas priced at $1.16 per gallon. It loves to run!

Electric vehicles are a hot button topic for a variety of very good reasons, not the least of which is their technology and total driving range on a full battery doesnt quite meet the basic needs of more than a few drivers in this country.
