Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has signed multiple fueling agreements with United States Postal Service (USPS) contract-carriers in Florida, New York, Oklahoma, and Texas, increasing the total number of USPS carriers fueling with Clean Energy now to 15. They will fuel 20 new CNG trucks out of Clean Energy’s Dallas-Fort Worth Station.

As noted in a TechCrunch report, Tesla was looking to secure almost $100 million from the administration’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant program. With a public Megacharger network in place, the Tesla Semi could transport goods over distances that far exceed its 500-mile range.

UPS plans to build an additional five compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations and add more than 700 new CNG vehicles including 400 semi-tractors and 330 terminal trucks. UPS will have invested more than $1 billion in alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles and fueling stations from 2008 through 2018.

GE Transportation’s 4,500 th more fuel efficient Evolution Series Locomotive has entered revenue service. GE’s $4-billion transportation business marked the milestone at Railway Interchange 2011 held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 18-20 Sept. Production is scheduled to start by the third quarter of 2012.
