Toyota was earlier granted a Zero Emission Powertrain (ZEP) Executive Order (A-014-1170) from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for its new heavy-duty fuel cell electric powertrain kit. The hydrogen-fueled powertrain kit includes a 200 kWh Li-ion battery; hydrogen fuel storage tanks (58.8 Earlier post.)

kWh NiMH plug-in hybrid (PHEV) conversion kit that enables all-electric mode driving at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour (until the battery pack is depleted) in a converted Prius. Some previous Prius plug-in conversion kits allowed motorists to go as fast as 52 miles per hour using a “forced stealth” mode.

If that’s your theory then you may have to re-evaluate after Ponway, California-based Plug-In Conversions Corp (PICC) completed a software upgrade conversion kit that enables all-electric mode driving at up to 70mph in a converted Prius. The software upgrade will retail for $2,000-$2,500 and be made available for sale later this month.

As we detail here , there are four MG4 models for sale. The MG4 Essence 77 measures up about Toyota Corolla-sized at 4287mm long, 1836mm wide, 1516m high and it has a 2715mm wheelbase. Sadly, there’s no spare tyre under the boot floor, just an inflator kit. – on offer in Australia.
