The good news about the list of EV and PHEV sales from last year is there were 86 models listed, though several were cars that have gone out of production (like my Chevy Volt) but still managed to have a few laggards left for sale. Tesla and GM both exceeded the state’s 200,000-unit sales cap on rebates.

This past week was certainly quite a whirlwind of EV news and developments from Volvo’s plans to end production of ICE vehicles by 2030, yet another proposal to reform the federal EV tax credit, chip shortages, Washington state’s plans to ban ICE vehicles by 2030, Lucid Air delay, Fisker to partner with Foxconn, and much, much more.

The Tesla Model Y and Model 3 of course far outsold any other EV models in the US, however since Tesla neither breaks out deliveries by market or individual model (the company reports global deliveries each for the combined Model 3/Y and S/X models) we can only estimate their sales.

Even if interest in purchasing an EV is increasing, close to 70 percent of Americans are still leaning towards buying an ICE vehicles as their next purchase. In the UK, only 14 percent of drivers plan to purchase an EV as their next car. EVs ain’t cheap Price is another EV purchase risk that is comparable to EV range.
