Miami-Dade, Florida, has agreed to purchase 33, 40-foot Proterra Catalyst E2 electric buses with DuoPower drivetrain technology and up to 75 plug-in Proterra chargers. With 33 electric buses and charging systems, Miami-Dade represents the largest electric bus order on the East Coast. —Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Giménez.

Miami-Dade County, Fla., placed its third order for Autocar E3 hybrid refuse trucks that feature Parker’s fuel-saving RunWise Advanced Series Hybrid Drive System. The additional purchase of 29 new hybrid trucks brings the total fleet to 64. The hydraulic hybrid technology can reduce fuel consumption by up to 50%.

Parker Hannifin Corporation, in partnership with Autocar, delivered hydraulic hybrid refuse vehicles to three South Florida municipalities ( earlier post ): City of Miami, the City of Hialeah, and Miami-Dade County. Hydraulic hybrid technology represents a breakthrough in efforts to reduce fuel use and pollution from these vehicles.
