However, the emissions of electric vehicles depend greatly on the energy source used to generate the electricity that powers them.

The first facility, Net-Zero 1, is expected to be located near Lake Preston, South Dakota. The Net-Zero 1 plant is expected to produce up to 65 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), diesel, renewable gasoline that, when consumed, is designed to have a lifecycle net-zero greenhouse gas footprint.

The baseline CI value for gasoline is 95.86 Methes Energies Canada produces biodiesel from Used Cooking Oil (UCO) and Corn Oil (CO) in a biodiesel plant in Sombra, Ontario, Canada. The energy consumption data for the rendering process was taken from eight existing rendering plants that currently supply Neste. g CO 2 e/MJ.

Eleven northeast and mid-Atlantic states are currently participating in the evaluation of a regional Clean Fuels Standard (CFS), which would lower the average carbon intensity of transportation fuels in the region and support the development and use of alternative fuels such as advanced biofuels, electricity, and natural gas.
