Our Next Energy (ONE), a Michigan-based energy storage technology company focusing on lithium iron phosphate chemistries ( earlier post ), will invest $1.6 billion in a new battery cell manufacturing plant, called ONE Circle, in Van Buren Township, Michigan.

Ford, Detroit Edison and Xtreme Power are teaming up to establish one of Michigan’s largest solar power generation systems and electric vehicle charging stations at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Mich. Ford will work with Detroit Edison to install a 500 kW solar photovoltaic panel system at Michigan Assembly.
