Renault delivers 30 Kangoo Z.E. electric vehicles in Uruguay

UTE, which generates, transmits and distributes electricity in Uruguay, took delivery of its new fleet of 30 Kangoo Z.E.s will be used by UTE for missions in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo and elsewhere in the country, and will enable the operator to reduce the annual CO 2 emissions produced by its vehicle fleet by 36 tonnes.

BYD wins order for another 406 electric buses in Bogotá, Colombia

BYD will co-work with Superpolo, a Colombian bus manufacturer, on the body part of the buses for such order. The buses are expected to be deployed along 15 routes in Bogotá’s Fontibon district in 2021 and thereafter 150,000 residents along the routes will be able to enjoy pure electric and zero-emission transportation services.

Nations agree on global, legally binding treaty on mercury emissions: Minamata Convention on Mercury

At the conclusion of the International Negotiating Committee on Mercury ( INC5 ) meeting in Geneva ( earlier post ), nations agreed on a global, legally-binding treaty to prevent mercury emissions and releases. Public awareness campaigns and support for mercury-free alternatives will also be part of the plans.
