The Danish government, in order to reduce CO 2 emissions in its country, is proactively implementing environmental conservation initiatives as national policy—a part of which are EV-related tax incentives—and approached MMC for cooperation in the popularization of EVs in Denmark.

Under UK-HyNet, all these activities will become part of a coordinated national program. The Renault-Nissan Alliance will introduce zero-emission vehicles in the United States and Japan starting with electric vehicles from 2010. To date the Alliance has signed two final agreements in Europe with Portugal and the Principality of Monaco.

UK startup Libertine LPE has developed a free piston linear power generator technology that it says overcomes the key challenges faced by earlier free piston engine schemes of motion control, emissions and power conversion efficiency. The car is part of Nissan’s fleet participating in the California Fuel Cell Partnership trials in the USA and has featured in a wide variety of low carbon events throughout Europe. The rally will go through: Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, France and Monaco.

Electric vehicles have many benefits over traditional gasoline-powered cars, including lower emissions, cheaper running costs and (often) government incentives. Lower emissions. While battery production for electric cars does produce some emissions , these emissions are dwarfed by the emissions produced by gasoline-powered vehicles.
