Under the MoU, the Danish government will consider introducing i-MiEVs into its fleet in or after 2011, conducting EV promotional activities and implementing EV infrastructure. MMC is already selling the i-MiEV in Japan and in Hong Kong.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) and the government of Thailand agreed to start joint study for fleet testing of electric vehicles (EV). MMC, through its local producer and distributor Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (MMTh), will begin initiatives for future market introduction of the i-MiEV.

The car is part of Nissan’s fleet participating in the California Fuel Cell Partnership trials in the USA and has featured in a wide variety of low carbon events throughout Europe. The plan for the Renault-Nissan Alliance is to introduce zero emission vehicles in the USA and Japan beginning with electric cars from 2010 onwards.

Electric vehicles have many benefits over traditional gasoline-powered cars, including lower emissions, cheaper running costs and (often) government incentives. Lower emissions. While battery production for electric cars does produce some emissions , these emissions are dwarfed by the emissions produced by gasoline-powered vehicles.

Electric vehicles will be rolled out in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand and will be subsequently extended to other countries, as part of the alliance. The Renault-Nissan Alliance will introduce zero-emission vehicles in the United States and Japan starting from 2010.
