Rent a petrol or diesel car for your holidays. In many places, electric cars are cheaper to rent than equivalent petrol cars. And as Europcar says on its website: Save on Petrol! All of this wastes time. Imagine having to register with a Shell servo before it let you pump petrol. Then it refuses to DC charge.

In fact not only does he advocate 48 V DC in vehicles, he even wants 48 V DC in your homes! As more and more of us put solar panels on our roofs, we can move away from our grid driven AC to battery driven DC lights and appliances. So LTO is good for petrol-battery hybrid cars, which end up having relatively small batteries.

With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. The panels generate DC current that varies with the solar power. Help with reducing our carbon footprint.
