A recent press release from the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) has revealed that Tesla will be providing Virtual Power Plant (VPP) services to the state’s grid. One ADER is comprised of Houston-area CenterPoint Energy customers, while the other is comprised of Dallas-area customers served by Oncor Electric Delivery Company.

The startup’s service is currently available in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, Los Angeles and Dallas. Many countries already run on 240-volt grids and only need a basic cable adapter to fast charge their cars.

However, the Raizen COPI mill exports surplus co-generated electricity to the public grid. The landfill gas (LFG) for all three pathways is extracted from the McCommas landfill in Dallas, Texas.
