Albemarle Corporation plans to locate its previously announced lithium hydroxide Mega-Flex facility in Chester County, South Carolina. The council also awarded a $9-million Rural Infrastructure Fund (RIF) grant to Chester County to assist with the costs of mitigation, site preparation and infrastructure improvements.

Plug In Carolina has selected Eaton Corporation to supply and support a network of public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in eight South Carolina cities. The project, which launched 15 June 2010, is funded by two state grants secured through the South Carolina Energy Office.

After recently announcing its entry into the US market ( earlier post ), South Korea-based EV manufacturer CT&T ), announced a joint venture with Tokyo-based PUES Corporation and E-1 Technology. CT&T has partnered with the PUES Corporation on a number of projects in Asia since 2005.
