SGH2 building largest green hydrogen production facility in California; gasification of waste into H2

Green Car Congress

SGH2’s gasification process uses a plasma-enhanced thermal catalytic conversion process optimized with oxygen-enriched gas. Now, most of these materials are stored or sent back to landfills. In certain cases, they end up in the ocean, where millions of tons of plastic are found annually.

MIT and Moscow State collaborating on advanced batteries, metal-air batteries and reversible fuel/electrolysis cells

Green Car Congress

This allows storage of charge at a higher volumetric or gravimetric density, which translates to a higher stored energy density or storage capacity for a given size or weight. One way is to generate hydrogen by splitting water and storing the hydrogen, as in the power-to-gas schemes under examination (e.g., earlier post ).

New “2-in-1” EV unit integrates traction motor and A/C compressor for increased range in hot climates

Green Car Congress

Hybrids and EVs use regenerative braking to capture kinetic energy and store it; this requires the conversion of the kinetic energy first into electricity to transport to the battery, resulting in extra energy conversion steps. Design concept of the integrated A/C compressor-traction motor unit.
