One of the baseline items my colleague highly suggested getting was a curb weight value before and after the conversion. It was a bit intimidating waiting in line with several semi-trucks, sort of like landing on the main runway of Portland International Airport with an ultralight airplane.

Going to NEDRA at Portland International Raceway was my first major excursion in the 914 since both the flywheel was balanced and the clutch was properly adjusted. Here's the wait in line for the ticket office at Portland International Raceway. Miles uses Hawker Genesis batteries to power the antique vehicle.

A white paper by AMPLY Power, a company providing fleet charging as a service, finds that 25 of America’s largest metropolitan areas could save an average of 37% on fuel costs by electrifying their bus and light-duty vehicle fleets. For both light duty and buses, AMPLY found Atlanta’s DPGe for fleet vehicles to be $1.85.

Summer events have held me back from working on the 914EV, so I headed out to Portland International Raceway to get a boost of inspiration from NEDRA (National Electric Drag Racing Association) to continue the project. I was amazed at how accessible these vehicles were to the general public. Here are some photos.
