BP, DuPont JV Butamax acquires ethanol plant to add bio-isobutanol production capability as demo plant

Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC, a 50/50 joint venture between BP and DuPont, acquired Nesika Energy, LLC and its ethanol facility in Scandia, Kansas. As a fuel, it can be blended with gasoline in higher concentrations than ethanol without compromising compatibility or performance.

E15 now available in North Dakota

E15 blended gasoline is now available in four of North Dakota’s larger cities. North Dakota is the ninth state to offer the fuel blend containing 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline. The others are Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
