at the BMW Group site in Dingolfing is operating an electrically heated ring hearth furnace. Compared with its conventional gas-powered equivalent, the latest electric furnace currently saves some 300 tonnes of CO 2 a year. For the future, we are looking into converting the remaining hardening furnaces to electricity as well.

The further decarbonization of shipping will result in substantial CO 2 reductions, with the use of liquid natural gas enabling Volkswagen to cut the ships’ CO 2 emissions by up to 25% percent (tank-to-wake). The fleet of 63 NGEN-1000 electric delivery cargo vans are produced by equipment manufacturer Workhorse Group. 100 miles all-electric range. The NGEN-1000 GEN 1000 supports up to 6,000 lbs. payload with 1,000 ft 3 cargo space.
