The new generation Mercedes-Benz S 560 e plug-in hybrid—the successor to the S 500 e PHEV— combines the 270 kW (367 hp) of the V6 spark-ignition engine with an electric output of 90 kW. The PHEV features combined fuel consumption of 2.1 kWh/100 km; and an all-electric range of around 50 kilometers (31-miles).
