As part of its e-mobility roadmap, MAN Truck & Bus is sending a fleet of demo e-buses to customers in five European countries this year. The fleet comprises 15 test vehicles, which will be deployed as part of everyday operations. The batteries are charged at the depot via a Combined Charging System plug (CCS).

The overall bus MBRC for the BEB fleet was more than 9,000. hours with an average of 13 charges per day. Each charge averages 20 kWh energy delivered. One major challenge is addressing demand charges and time of use charges that affect electricity cost. This resulted in an ESS-related MBRC of more than 133,000.

Pocket change, really (although, an early tricked-out “Founder’s Fleet” model with all the options and extras included will cost $322k).
