The electric trucks will be deployed in greater Sacramento to provide home energy audits, weatherization and HVAC services to low-income residents in an area where air quality is some of the worst in the country. PG&E helped the school district by designing, paying for and building out a large portion of the electrical infrastructure for their EV charging stations. Palermo Union School District is located in the northern part of California’s Sacramento Valley, just south of Oroville and 64 miles north of Sacramento, the state capital.

Clean Energy has been awarded a contract to build a fueling station that will accommodate both fast- and time-filling for the City of Sacramento, along with a long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement, to fuel more than 100 natural gas refuse trucks with an anticipated 8 million gallons of RNG for the next 10 years.

Funding for building out the electric infrastructure to the chargers was awarded through Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E’s) EV Fleet program. Redeem sales were also strengthened by the addition of more ultra-low emissions trucks operating in the ports of Los Angeles; and from wider adoption by municipalities including Santa Monica, Santa Clarita, Midway City, Redondo Beach, Sacramento, Ontario and San Jose. Clean Energy also has a ten-year maintenance contract for this station.
