Tests on the Rolls-Royce Power Systems test bench at the Liège site in Belgium showed that the use of HVO had no effect on the dynamic behavior of the engine during critical phases under typical load conditions. Part of the energy stored in the flywheel is used to drive the generator that begins producing electrical power.

In addition, waste heat is used and becomes energy, so absolutely nothing is wasted. With four generator sets the power management system will ensure the engines do so.
