Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), IVECO (a brand of CNH Industrial) and ENGIE (Global Energy Player) are broadly collaborating to promote natural gas vehicles and infrastructure in Europe. Together, FCA and IVECO intend to further develop their ranges of natural gas vehicles. ENGIE considers transportation a major development focus.

Deutsche Post DHL Group is introducing a global DHL Green Carrier Certification to reward road transport subcontractors for their efforts to become more sustainable. As part of its sustainability roadmap, Deutsche Post DHL Group aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to below 29 million tons by 2030 and net-zero by 2050.

Uber is adding more polluting car trips to already-clogged European cities such as London and Paris, new analysis by European NGOs suggests —contributing to air pollution and climate change and exploding the company’s sustainability claims. Transport represents more than a quarter (27%) of Europe’s total greenhouse gas emissions.

A new European project, AMITRAN , is developing a methodology to assess the impact of ICT (information and communication technologies) and ITS (intelligent transport systems) on CO 2 emissions from the transport sector. Since present transport emissions are 27% above 1990 levels, this will be particularly difficult to achieve.
