In addition, the ability to run under battery power only can reduce noise pollution in city areas and stations by 75% (20 dB(A)).

In recent testimony, Nuvve CEO Gregory Poilasne told the lawmakers that bidirectional charging can reduce the total cost of EV ownership, and that it’s essential for integrating more renewable energy into the grid. In a pilot project in Denmark that has been running for over 7 years, we’re generating about $220 per month from grid services.

US $5 PER KILOGRAM Cost of green hydrogen today. Denmark is planning a hydrogen island designed to generate about 1 million tonnes of offshore hydrogen starting in 2030. Airplanes, for example, won’t be able to fly long distances on battery power. The trick will be to keep the cost of these buffers to a minimum.

Their solution to the cost of thenew-generation batteries is to separate them from the car itself. Buyerswill purchase the car – at about the same price as a conventional model –but lease the batteries from a third-party energy supplier for a monthly feeequivalent to the fuel costs for an economical petrol or diesel car.

It is simply the cost of doing business. "On some products, the costs, particularly in advanced technologies, are high," he said in a lengthy interview with Automotive News (free subscription required). Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal.
