Solaris is already very well-known in Romania. Since then, Solaris has supplied Romanian carriers with more than 300 vehicles, including more than 100 zero-emission, environmentally neutral trolleybuses and more than 40 Urbino 12 electric buses. The partnership with the country began in 2002.

Canada-based Rock Tech Lithium officially broke ground for its lithium conversion plant in Guben, Germany ( earlier post ), from which it will supply Mercedes-Benz with battery-grade lithium hydroxide (LiOH) starting in 2026 (starting with a qualification period). contract for the supply of 100 Solaris Trollino 12 trolleybuses, with a base contract value of almost €60 million. The Trollino vehicles will be fitted with Solaris High Power batteries with a capacity of 60 kWh, which will enable them to cover distances of up to 20 km at a time without connection to an overhead wires.

Canada-based Rock Tech Lithium has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with the Government of Romania. We not only want to invest in Romania, but also build up know-how, create jobs and work closely with local partners. It took us almost two years to find and sign our first location in Guben, Brandenburg.

Brasov, Romania has ordered 25 Solaris Trollino 18 trolleybuses. Solaris will supply the articulated, low-floor and zero-emission trolleybuses to the customer within 12 months. Due to fitting the vehicles with batteries they will be able to cover a certain distance of the route without a connection to the traction line.

ti in 1997 is the newest of all networks in Romania. ti, but not the first ones in Romania. In total, the company has supplied more than 300 buses and trolleybuses to Romanian carriers. According to the contract worth PLN 36 million (US$9.6 million), the vehicles will have been delivered within two years from the signing date.
