Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott signed a bill on Monday that ensures the city’s fleet of government vehicles will be all-electric by 2030. Maryland’s announcement in March, along with Baltimore’s on December 4, both featured all-electric vehicles from Ford, as the Mustang Mach-E seems to be the centerpiece of each.

Incentives Generally, the highest-dollar methods of reducing the start-up costs of installing electric vehicle charging stations come from incentives and rebates. This is a tax credit that allows you to recoup 30% (up to a maximum of $30,000) of the cost for electric vehicle charging station purchase and installation.

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is awarding $100 million in Economic Recovery Act funding to 43 transit agencies for projects to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from both vehicles and facilities. The Federal Transit Administration reviewed more than $2 billion in applications for these funds.
