The German Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) and several industrial companies signed a joint Letter of Intent to expand the network of hydrogen filling stations in Germany from 15 to 50. Mobility using hydrogen is already being extensively and successfully tested for everyday use.

Fuel cells, like stem cells in medical science, are a new technology in the automobile industry. The catch here is, that being able to produce enough clean hydrogen (hydrogen is highly reactive and is not available in pure form in the natural state) to be used as a fuel in a sustainable manner is not impossible but hard and expensive.
