Chrysler unveiled the all-new 2017 Pacifica minivan in both conventional and plug-in hybrid versions at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The PHEV is the minivan segment’s first.

The auto market is still settling down after policy changes that came in at the start of the year. Overall auto volume was 8,976 units, down 7.7% plugin hybrids (PHEVs). We can see that BEVs have continued to grow, whilst PHEVs have been squeezed. PHEVs shrunk in volume by some 28%, down to 703 units.

It was all-new for the 2018 model year, and was engineered from the start to accommodate 2021’s PHEV version.
