The treasure chest was cleverly disguised in the form of Federal stimulus money from the ARRA, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Here at my home we’ve cut our electrical bill more than in half. We can’t wait to go solar so we’re we can stop paying the electric company for dirty energy. Imagine that.

And it was the seemingly impossible goal of cutting Berkeley’s greenhouse gas emissions by a full 80% by 2050 – as required by a referendum vote of the Berkeley citizens. Another person who really wowed me was Brian Gitt of Bevilacqua Knight who spoke about Federal Stimulus money available to AB 811 programs.

If you’ve followed The Adventures of the Solagnelist thus far you know that I am seriously jonesing to generate all my electricity from my own rooftop solar power. We cannot afford to wait for them and we don’t have to. And we can’t afford another big monthly payment anyway. I’m ready to start right now.
