Second, the US Department of Agriculture proposed a rule on the Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) that would provide financing to increase the conversion of biomass to bioenergy. It’s been said that the United States is the Saudi Arabia of coal—and that’s because, as I said, it’s one of our most abundant energy resources.

Energix Research executed the GTL process via the syngas and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis route at a high conversion rate (87%) and selectivity rate (99%). Energix expects to develop affordable, micro GTL plants to monetize underutilized resources, such as abandoned natural gas fields, coal bed methane (CBM) fields, flared gases, etc.

The anaerobic digester is fed the waste from the distillation process and the wastes from 2,000 dairy cattle and 10,000 beef cattle being raised on the site. Madson identified several ethanol plants that were built in industrial settings that were able to use the waste heat, i.e. from an adjacent refinery, to produce their ethanol.

Just two people live in its 3000+ energy-wasting square feet. It’s just this mind-blowing waste of time. Yeah, they can afford it. THE HOLY GRAIL OF SOLAR: $3 A WATT, CHEAPER THAN COAL. But I think a big part of that was Moore’s law and things becoming really affordable. And at sub $3 you’re cheaper than coal.

If the US military increases its use of alternative jet and naval fuels that can be produced from coal or various renewable resources, including seed oils, waste oils and algae, there will be no direct benefit to the nation’s armed forces, according to a new RAND Corporation study.

Biofuel projects are going to have trouble getting financing from Wall Street this year because all of them have questions about the long term pricing of petroleum; most of them have concerns about the pricing stability of their feedstocks; and many of the cellulosic projects have concerns about the conversion technologies.
