A new study by a team from Aarhus University in Denmark has found that car dealerships pose a significant barrier to electric vehicle adoption at the point of sale due to a perceived lack of business case viability in relation to gasoline and diesel vehicles. Polestar, Volvo Cars’ new electric performance brand, introduced the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. The combustion engine in the Polestar 1 is a high-performance supercharged and turbocharged gasoline in-line four-cylinder engine. Two electric motors drive the rear wheels.

Proponents believe such a car could be easily refuelled with hydrogen and assumed it would have greater range than a pure all-electric car. Little seems developed in any wide commercial sense and certainly not to the extent of the pure electric car. It is important to realize that a fuel cell car is actually an electric car.
