In a news conference at the Japan National Press Club on Friday, Toyota Motor President Akio Toyoda said that the company plans to begin mass production of electric vehicles in the US in 2012, followed by US production of fuel cell vehicles in 2015. The Tucson ix FCEV made its US public debut at Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy 2011 in Washington, DC. Hyundai plans to make a limited supply of the Tucson ix FCEV in 2012 and begin mass production in 2015.
