Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. In November, 2014, Hyundai Auto Canada announced it would become the first Canadian automotive company to offer fuel cell vehicles to real-world customers. Six Tucson FCEVs have been delivered since February, 2015 in British Columbia.

In an event combining a first-customer ceremony and a media drive, Tustin (California) Hyundai’s Dealer Principal, John Patterson, handed over the keys to Hyundai’s first mass-produced Tucson Fuel Cell crossover ( earlier post ) to Timothy Bush, the first Hyundai Fuel Cell customer, with Hyundai executives in attendance. Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. has delivered a 2016 Tucson Fuel Cell vehicle to the Centre de Gestion de l’Equipment Roulant (CGER)—its first customer in Québec, the third province where the vehicle can now be found. The vehicle will be refueled at the Institute.

The 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell has been available to lease since June, and journalists will be able to drive the new Toyota fuel-cell vehicle in November, just before the Los Angeles Auto Show. Within the next two years, three different hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles will be offered to California buyers in small numbers.

The 2017 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell made its North American debut this month at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. That will make it the third current production fuel-cell vehicle sold here, after the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell and Toyota Mirai. It will go on sale in Japan in early 2016, followed by a U.S. launch later in the year.
