Honda beat everybody to the production gasoline-electric hybrid game in the United States, putting the Insight in showrooms in 1999. That car was the 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line, and I managed to find one in a Denver-area car graveyard recently. A 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid in a Colorado wrecking yard.

My only serious gripe was that they’re supposed to take premium gasoline, returning roughly 36 mpg. In that respect, Can-Am’s biggest competition is probably coming from Harley-Davidson’s luxury tourers and the Honda Gold Wing. But I never encountered anyone at Spyderquest who had ridden their three-wheeler for more than 40,000 miles.
