Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (Sinopec) executed an agreement which provides for Sinopec to purchase a 50% undivided interest in 850,000 of Chesapeake’s net oil and natural gas leasehold acres in the Mississippi Lime play in northern Oklahoma (425,000 acres net to Sinopec).

Ford to expand 3-Wet Paint capacity by 50% globally in 2013

Ford was the first automaker to implement the 3-Wet high-solids solvent-borne technology in 2007; it now has eight plants in North America, Asia Pacific and Europe equipped to use the process to paint vehicles. Kansas City Assembly Plant, Claycomo, Mo. The actions will reduce CO 2 emissions by an estimated 15-25% at those facilities.

Harmonizing Low Carbon Fuel Standards

Harmonizing fuel programs between state, federal, and foreign jurisdictions is useful to ensure the optimum reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The plan assumes carbon intensity will be reduced 10% from 2007 levels by 2023, with reductions beginning in 2014. The final report on an LCFS was published in February 2011.
