Now, as part of its own MY 2022-2025 fuel economy standards process, NHTSA has issued its Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Model Year 2022–2025 Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Standards. mpg in MY 2021. mpg in model year 2025.

And yet clean diesel, one of the cleanest choices for putting the US on the road to energy independence, hasn’t see any sort of incentive since the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007. Do they receive HOV access for their improved fuel economy and ultra low emissions? Are these sales incentivized?

I do not agree with the EPA or the 2007 Supreme Court ruling that gave the Agency that authority. The resulting set of new standards will cover model years 2012-2016, and will require an average fuel economy standard of 35.5 mpg in 2016 (39 mpg for cars, 30 mpg for trucks), or approximately 250 grams CO 2 /mile.
