Honda will begin a European demonstration program of the battery-electric EV-neo scooter in conjunction with Barcelona City Council (Spain) beginning in July 2011. Honda will provide Barcelona City Council with 18 EV-neos for the period of one year. The motor has rated output of 0.58 kW, and maximum output of 2.8 hours at 25°C.

GM Europe staged the world premieres of the Opel Ampera, the European cousin of the Chevrolet Volt, and the Chevrolet Spark mini-car, at the Geneva Motor Show. The Ampera is an extended range electric vehicle based on the Voltec technology used in the Chevrolet Volt. Recharging uses a standard 230V outlet. Opel Ampera.

The C-MAX Energi and C-MAX Hybrid vehicles sold in Europe in 2013 will be built at Ford’s plant in Valencia, Spain, starting in 2013. C-MAX Energi will offer more than 500 miles (800 kilometers) of overall driving range using the battery and engine and delivers better charge-sustaining fuel economy than Chevrolet Volt, according to Ford.

Eaton’s quick charger can recharge the iMiEV to 80% of battery capacity in 25 minutes. Plug-ins such as the Volt and LEAF will be able to use the Evatran system with an adapter. The Karma, a luxury four-passenger sedan, can be recharged by plugging it in; it can then be driven on power from a battery alone for 50 miles. After that, an onboard gasoline generator kicks on to recharge the battery, extending the range by 250 miles between fill-ups. It takes the Volt about 9 seconds.)

Gross capacity of the 500e’s 400-volt lithium-ion pack is 42kW/h, of which a little over 37kW/h is usable. Fiat’s three-year-old 500e will go on sale in Australia from around August, 2023.
