Now an eight-year veteran on the Australian scene, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV. A new generation of the pioneering mid-sizer has just launched, with 45 per cent larger battery (now 20kWh), a pure electric range of up to 84km (NEDC), all-wheel-drive and seating for up to seven.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Exceed with electric scooter on the Gold Coast, Queensland They don’t take up much room, are easy to maintain and can be bought for not a lot of money. Some e-scooters have a range around the 100km mark, although 20-50km is more typical. Hence why so many pesky kids got one for Christmas.
