Fifteen countries have agreed to work together toward 100% zero-emission new truck and bus sales by 2040. California recently adopted its Advanced Clean Truck rule that establishes firm sales targets for zero-emission trucks that formed the basis of the MOU ambition.

GM South America includes GM’s existing sales and manufacturing operations in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela as well as sales activities in those countries and Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Ardila becomes president, GM South America and will report to GM Chairman and CEO Ed Whitacre.

In a new report, “ Electric Drive Buses ”, Pike finds that China market will constitute the majority of global electric drive bus sales, while some of the more developed markets will see fluctuations in electric bus uptake. North America is the leading market for this technology, with hybrids capturing 30% to 40% of annual transit bus sales.
