Reva Electric Car Company (RECC), the manufacturer of the REVA electric car, is building a new assembly plant in Bangalore, India with a capacity of 30,000 units per year, to accommodate the increased production of the REVA and for the planned one new model per year from the end of 2009. It’s not just Mum who has gone to Iceland… it is electric cars too, with the REVA Electric Car Company signing an agreement with Northern Lights Energy (NLE) to jointly develop the market in Iceland. Sales and marketing of the car is expected to begin in the second half of 2010 with customer deliveries at the end of the same year.

We chatted up with Jayasuriya, the state head of TML for Electric Vehicle sales. Also, there is a blue LED that lights up below the appropriate gear as soon as it is selected. Jay’s first EV was the DC motor Reva, which he bought way back in the early 2000s. Sales are incidentally back to normal now.
