Sonata Plug-in Hybrid will be built at the Asan, South Korea plant and will go on sale in select markets later this year. In charge sustaining mode, the Sonata PHEV is expected to return 38 mpg (6.19 l/100 km) in the city, 43 mpg (5.47 l/100 km) on the highway and 40 mpg (5.88 l/100 km) combined based on internal testing.
