Rosneft announced a major oil discovery at the East-Prinovozemelskiy-1 license area in the Kara Sea, following the successful completion of the drilling of the northernmost well in the world—the Universitetskaya-1 well. I can inform you about the discovery of the first oil/gas-condensate field in the new Kara sea oil province.

The Chinese government recently granted final approval for a joint venture project between Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), one of the world’s largest refiners, to build a world-class refinery and petrochemical complex in south China. This is expected to start operations in 2014.
