There’s no word if Ford is hatching plans to roll out mild-hybrid, hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains, but it’s thought it will favour the latter, with the US car-maker thought to be working on a plug-in version that could combine with its mightiest 5.0-litre

At the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this week, Ford delivered first proof of that focus with the reveal of the new Ford GT carbon-fiber supercar, as well as the new F-150 Raptor based on the new aluminum F-150 and the Shelby GT350R Mustang. Ford has been selling hybrids and, later plug-ins, since 2004.

The Push Is On Apteras future appears to be encouraging. Change Is Good Punch and the PP4 prototype represent an impressive midpoint in development, but Reichenbach (formerly head engineer for the Ford GT and Shelby 350 GT programs at Ford) says that only about 30 percent of what we see in PP4 will be in the final production version.
