Volvo Cars has published a lifecycle analysis report on its second fully electric car, the C40 Recharge, which shows the potential CO 2 reductions if a car is built and charged using clean energy sources. When charging with electricity generated through fossil fuels, that difference becomes much smaller.

Mercedes-Benz is switching to a more powerful generation of lithium-ion batteries in its electric buses ( earlier post ). The two new eCitaro G buses for ÜSTRA feature second-generation NMC lithium-ion batteries. The fully electric eCitaro G buses have four double-width doors to ensure rapid passenger flow at the bus stops.

At start, the fuel cell has not built up enough electrical power to drive the motor by itself.

Zero Motorcycles launched the Zero DS, a fully electric dual sport motorcycle for on and off-road riding. The DS is powered by Zero Motorcycles’s Z-Force electric drivetrain. With a 4 kWh Li-ion pack, the DS has a top speed of 55 mph (90 km/h) and has a range of up to 50 miles (80 km). The Zero DS.

The world’s first fast rechargeable hybrid bus is now being tested in Umeå City, Sweden in a collaboration between the companies Hybricon AB, Opbrid SL, e-Traction BV, Umeå Energi AB and the Umeå City Corporation.
