Ford plug-in hybrid owners are operating in electric mode nearly 60% of the time, according to new aggregate data collected from Ford’s MyFord Mobile app. Ford doesn’t collect information on individual drivers, but aggregates group data so that it can continue to deliver the best possible ownership experience. Ford Motor Company and Microsoft Corp. announced at the New York International Auto Show that they are teaming up to implement the Microsoft Hohm energy management application for Ford’s electric vehicles. Ford is the first automaker to announce the planned use of Hohm, starting with the Focus Electric next year.

High demand/brand new models such as the BMW i4, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Hyundai IONIQ 5 are in extremely high demand and short supply on dealership lots. In larger metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, or Seattle, where EVs are in high demand, prices are higher but have more inventory available than in suburban or rural areas.
