IAV has developed a particularly closed-coupled diesel exhaust gas aftertreatment (EAT) system. Under the EU6 standard, diesel engines are still allowed to emit up to 80 mg NO x /km milligrams of nitrogen oxides per kilometer—not only under the legal framework in the cycle but also in respect of increasingly tighter RDE requirements.

The BMW XM is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system comprising a V8 gasoline engine and electric motor that delivers combined fuel consumption of 1.6 – 1.5 liter unit features a cross-bank exhaust manifold and an optimized oil separation process. kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle; and CO 2 emissions of 36 – 33 g/km in the WLTP cycle.

A plug-in hybrid model will also be offered, with potential to travel 31 miles (50 km) powered by a 9.9 Plug-in hybrid. The new Passat is the third plug-in hybrid from Volkswagen, after the XL1 and Golf GTE.

Unlike its domestic sibling, the Dodge Hornet , Alfa’s Tonale only comes as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and it will try to lean on the electric motor whenever possible if left to its own devices. Otherwise, it’ll jump between (electric) rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive with the gasoline engine handling the vehicle’s front wheels.
