The 2024 Range Rover Electric has been shown off undisguised undergoing final winter testing and the big news is it looks just like the regular combustion version. The only changes from its transition from petrol or turbo-diesel include a smoother front grille and the addition of a new charging port behind the rear right door.

Newcomer off-road brand Ineos has unveiled its first EV, which should hit the market in 2026 as a zero emissions rival to upcoming electric off-roaders from Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. It’ll no doubt offer better performance than the BMW-sourced six-cylinder engines in the Grenadier.

Partnering with Jaguar Land Rover and using a Jaguar I-PACE as a demonstrator vehicle, Ricardo engineers in the TOBEV (Thermally Optimized Battery Electric Vehicle) project will look holistically at whole vehicle thermal management and use state-of the art digital modeling techniques to optimize the thermal and control systems.
