BYD announced the launch of Hong Kong’s first all-electric taxi fleet using the BYD e6 electric cross-over sedan. BYD also announced that the e6 “Taxi version” and e6 “Premier” sedan were now officially on sale in Hong Kong. The 5-passenger BYD e6 offers a range of up to 300 km (186 miles), according to BYD.

The volume energy density of the AGDIB can reach ~560 Wh/L, which is much higher than traditional batteries (~350 Wh/L for Tesla Model S and ~200 Wh/L for BYD E6). The AGDIB shows real potential for large-scale application in both electronic devices and electric vehicles, the researchers said.

Rotterdam Taxi Centre (RTC), one of the biggest taxi operators in the Netherlands, is switching to electric taxis and has put into service two BYD e6 models, following successful extensive operation with an e6 model. The BYD e6 is a five-passenger, crossover vehicle powered by the BYD Fe battery (lithium-iron phosphate).

By Kamlesh We managed to recharge the car from 40% to 60% in 15 minutes! The DTE or range remaining says 186 kilometers. 90% SOC Update - Disappointing Range Estimation and Weak Regen! T his range calculation was totally out of whack! The range remaining says 1 21 kilometers which is unrealistic. F antastic!
