Battery electric cars emit less greenhouse gases and air pollutants over their entire life cycle than petrol and diesel cars, according to a European Environment Agency (EEA) report. For local air quality, electric vehicles also offer clear benefits, mainly due to zero exhaust emissions at street level. in 2017.

LPG (90 hp / 67 kW) engines reduce CO 2 emissions by up to 12% compared with gasoline power, and offer lower emissions of criteria pollutants. The Dacia LPG vehicles are dual-mode gasoline/ LPG gas vehicles (the driver only has to activate a switch to select the petrol or gas mode), and are 60% quieter than diesel-powered vehicles.

The briefing includes information on countries’ 2015 emissions and national ceilings for different pollutants.

Northvolt’s Northvolt Ett plant in Skellefteå, Sweden will start battery cell production for Volkswagen in 2023, with a target of up to 40 GWh annually. The “Northvolt Zwei” plant (under development), located at one of Volkswagen’s sites, was planned for 16 GWh annually (with potential for 24 GWh annually).
