The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (Auto Alliance) is strongly supporting the passage of Maryland’s SB 1234 , a bill that would require the State of Maryland to purchase zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) for state fleets. Maryland is one of nine states that has adopted California’s ZEV Mandate. —Auto Alliance.

The Memorandum of Understanding commits both governments to work together on developing their respective regulations to cut greenhouse gas emissions from light-duty vehicles, such as those currently in effect in Canada, California and the 13 US states that have adopted California’s standards.

Hyundai invited automotive journalists to Baltimore, Maryland, to drive the gasoline versions, which are in dealers now. The exterior features designs of an aerodynamic nose with a seamless horizontal light strip that runs across the complete hood. LED head, daytime running and tail lights finish the exterior lighting design.

Must an eligible Fuel Cell Vehicle or plug-in EV with a battery capacity of least 7 kWh. Must be used for driving primarily in the United States.

The Sonata Plug-in Hybrid will be distributed in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont, but customers in any of the other states can custom order the vehicle at their local Hyundai dealer. LED headlamps are optional and LED taillights and DRLs are standard.
