Well, add one more to the list of states where Tesla Motors can legally sell its electric cars--and do so without having to use franchised dealers. The Maryland General Assembly has reversed a ban on direct sales by Tesla, which displays its cars in Tesla Store and "gallery" facilities it operates.

Last week, barely minutes before it adjourned, the Maryland House of Representatives passed a bill authorizing Tesla Motors to sell its electric cars from up to four stores in the state.

The partnership will see Canada and California work together to accelerate the adoption of zero-tailpipe-emission vehicles such as electric cars. The two jurisdictions will also share technical information and best practices in regulating cleaner fuels, as California does today though its Low-Carbon Fuel Standard.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). By the end of the year, more than 2,500 US dealers will receive a dedicated Volt demo. The Volt is clearly bringing new customers to our dealership.

Genesis is on schedule to have 100+ dealers across the country in the coming years. Until then, Hyundai dealers will handle Genesis sales.

The MY14 B-Class Electric Vehicle will be available beginning in mid-July to dealers in California; Connecticut; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; New Jersey; New York; Oregon; Rhode Island; and Vermont. Customers may be eligible for federal tax credits (which run up to $7,500) or state/local tax credits.
